Rosenberg will retire from the organization in spring. Child Guidance Center has launched a national search to fill this key position. Annually, its clinical staff works with more than 2,000 children in Stamford, Greenwich, Darien and New Canaan on mental health issues.
“Though it is difficult to leave an agency where so much exciting work is being done, I feel very confident that this is a good time for me to transition, knowing we have the right people in the right positions to ensure that CGC will continue offering the highest level of professional mental health services,” Rosenberg said in a release. “With high quality directors of each of our programs and community offices, and outstanding clinical staff, I am certain that the agency is in position to continue to thrive for many years to come.”
Rosenberg has served as clinical director since 1987. During his tenure, Child Guidance Center created a broad range of new programs based on emerging community needs, and implemented innovative treatment approaches based on the development of the latest and most effective options in mental health diagnosis and treatment of children, representatives said in a release.
The staff at the Child Guidance Center recognized Rosenberg "for his special gift for teaching and mentoring up-and-coming mental health professionals," according to the release.
“Delivery of high-caliber, compassionate services and commitment to training young professionals have been hallmarks of CGC during Dr. Rosenberg’s tenure at the agency,” said President and CEO Sherry Perlstein in the release. “Our challenge now is to find a new Clinical Director with the expertise to continue this legacy of clinical leadership.”
