Darien Businesswoman Applauds 40 Years Of WoodenBoat Magazine

DARIEN, Conn. – A Darien resident celebrated the 40th anniversary of WoodenBoat Magazine, a publication that featured her business in its first issue in 1974.

Pat Atkin is the owner of Atkin and Co., a wooden boat design business started by her father-in-law, Bill Atkin, in 1906. Today, it offers more than 300 practical wooden boat designs, including Atkin double-enders, traditional offshore and coastal cruising yachts and houseboats to customers around the world.  

Atkin and Co. held a booth at the 2014 WoodenBoat Show presented by WoodenBoat Magazine, which took place from June 27 through June 29 at the Mystic Seaport in Mystic.

The show included boat displays, family boat building, demonstrations and more.
