Darien Chamber Honors Business, Volunteer At Awards Luncheon

DARIEN, Conn. -- Atria Senior Living of Darien and Julia Ambrosi were the recipients of The Darien Chamber of Commerce awards presented recently at the Annual Meeting and Awards Luncheon at SCENA restaurant.

ATRIA Senior Living was given the distinguished award of “2014 Business of the Year.” JoAnn Panella, executive director of ATRIA accepted the award. ATRIA has consistently been a generous supporter of the Darien Chamber of Commerce membership and events thoughout the year. This involvement has helped the Darien Chamber fulfill its mission statement of taking a leadership role in improving the business community and quality of life in Darien.

Julia Ambrosi of Williams & Co. was recognized as Volunteer of the Year. Ambrosi has volunteered countless hours to the chamber as secretary to the board. She is also a volunteer also for all the Chamber events — The Darien Memorial Day Parade, The DCC Dual Chamber Golf Event, The DCC Wine Tasting and Auction, Holiday Magic and DCC Business Networking Events.

The chamber also recognized Edward Tunick for his many years of commitment to the Darien Retail Community, Darien residents and his scholarship program that totaled $18,000 (from the rental sales of tuxedos for the Darien proms).
