DARIEN, Conn. – The Darien Chamber of Commerce and other town groups are supporting the sixth annual “Darien Going For Green” campaign, including a poster contest for high school students.
Darien Beautification and The Green Team are also behind the effort, which will include the weekly publishing of growing tips, articles and letters to support practices for a healthy environment.
Students at Darien High School in the graphic arts class of Dorine Bosler are making posters to support the cause. Artists, marketing specialists and green team members will judge the posters, and the top two will receive prizes April 24 at TD Bank in Darien. TD Bank is the title sponsor of the event. Prizes have been donated by Nielsen’s Florist and Garden Shop, Robeks Juice, Uncle’s Deli and Darien Doughnut.
A winner for Green Business of the Year will also be presented.
Businesses are also encouraged to pledge to make healthier environmental choices. Contact Carol Wilder-Tamme at firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
