As part of the grand reopening, The UPS Store is helping in the fight against identity theft and supporting local charities through a Free Shred for Charity from 11 a.m. to  3:00 p.m.

The UPS Store encourages customers to shred documents containing personal information to protect themselves against identity theft and fraud.

To help customers do this, an Iron Mountain truck will be available free of charge to customers who attend the grand reopening event.

Additionally, the new store owner, Marcos de Jesus, will donate $1 per pound of shredding (up to $500) to local charities.

De Jesus served the local community for 15-plus years. Over the years, he has built trust with his customers by demonstrating his commitment to go above and beyond in delivering service to them.

His expertise is sought out by loyal customers who value his industry experience.

“My family and I are extremely grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this community," he said. "As a one-stop shop for shipping, postal, printing and business services, I look forward to continuing to serve the residents and small business owners of the community."

In addition to domestic and international shipping, The UPS Store offers full-service packaging; digital printing and online printing; black-and-white and color copies; document finishing (binding, laminating, etc.); office and packaging supplies; and much more.

“We are expanding our print services by investing in new printing equipment," said de Jesus. "We are excited for the opportunity to showcase our completely remodeled store at our grand reopening event on October 22.”

The UPS Store has joined the Darien Chamber of Commerce as a new member. Members of the DCC's board of directors, Connecticut State Sen. Bob Duff and other community leaders attended a recent ribbon-cutting ceremony at the store.

The UPS Store's hours of operation are Mondays to Fridays from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

For any questions related to the grand reopening or the services offered at The UPS Store, contact Marcos de Jesus at 203-655-6543.
