DARIEN, Conn. -- Gault Energy & Stone honored Darien Police recently for National First Responders Day.
As part of Gault's 150th anniversary celebration, "and in keeping with its tradition of giving back to the communities it serves," the Westport-based group recently launched the "Acts of Community" program, according to a press release from Gault. The program honors "the many individuals and groups that have become the backbone of our Fairfield County communities," according to the release.
Gault Energy Propane Division Manager Andy Dehler and brother and Gault Energy Account Manager John Dehler delivered coffee and donuts to the Darien Police Department on Sept. 27 to celebrate National First Responders Day, according to the release.
Representatives said the day is "particularly meaningful to the Gault family, which has a long history of civil service, from being a part of Westport's Volunteer Fire Department at the turn of the last century to transforming the company's hauling carriages into funeral coaches during the 1918 flu epidemic to providing propane to stranded Fairfield County homeowners during Superstorm Sandy," according to the release.
