Janet Rosier’s Educational Resources Inc. is a boutique college admissions consulting firm that has been providing personal, individualized admissions consulting to area families since 2003.
Her firm’s guiding philosophy is to match students to colleges that are a good fit—academically as well as socially and emotionally.
Rosier works with students across the academic spectrum. Her students range from those interested in general liberal arts, music and visual art to majors in engineering, nursing and biology.
Admissions, especially for college, has become an extremely competitive, complex and stressful pursuit for families. More students are applying to a growing number of colleges every year, while the acceptance rates of sought-after institutions continue to decrease. Students feel pressured and are confused about where and how to begin to narrow down their choices.
“I work with a small number of students and guide each of them personally through their individual college search and application experience," Rosier said. "I do not assign them to assistants or other associates.”
Rosier said there are more than 2,000 four-year colleges and universities in the United States. To facilitate the right college match, she participates in college tours designed for professionals who work with students and has toured more than 270 colleges throughout the country.
Rosier keeps her finger on the pulse of admissions by attending national conferences and participating in workshops and webinars detailing the latest information on trends in higher education.
Rosier is a member of the Independent Educational Consultant’s Association, the National Association for College Admission Counseling and the New England Association for College Admission Counseling.
