DARIEN, Conn. -- Koenig's Art Emporium is closing its doors after doing business for 31 years in Darien, and they are marking the event with a Going-Out-of-Business Sale and Party.
Jim and Shirley Baker, the longtime owners, are inviting the community to join them for the celebration on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Shoppers should bring cash to help reduce the remaining inventory.
The "Cash Mob" starts at 4 p.m. at the store, located at 899 Post Road in Darien.
State Rep. Terrie Wood, R-Darien, and First Selectman Jayme Stevenson will be on hand to present the owners with a citation and proclamation, recognizing their contributions to the town.
The Emporium sells art and drafting supplies as well as ready-made frames.
