Laurie Griffith, Callari Auto Group Earn Honors From Darien Chamber

DARIEN, Conn. -- Laurie Griffith was awarded Volunteer Member of the Year and Callari Auto Group/BMW of Darien was named Business of the Year at the Darien Chamber of Commerce's annual meeting.

Both winners were honored with a Town Proclamation delivered by First Selectman Jayme Stevenson, an Assembly Citation presented by state Rep. Terrie Wood and a Darien Chamber Award plaque from Al Tibbetts, chairman of the Darien Chamber of Commerce.

Griffith, who works for Darien Bank & Trust, is a longstanding chamber member and 2013 Volunteer of the Darien Chamber. She has served on the executive and full board, and on the membership, directory and social committees. She now serves as the chair of the Events Committee.

Her enthusiasm and “let’s work together” attitude has increased board participation in the Darien Memorial Day Parade and in “Holiday Magic In Darien” events. She is known for her positive can-do attitude to move chamber business along. She is dedicated to the business community of Darien and has attended almost every ribbon-cutting, business after hours and chamber festivity.

In addition, she has served the chamber at Holiday Magic in Darien, at the Memorial Day Parade and with a variety of chamber financial and banking needs

The Callari Auto Group/BMW Darien executives have served on the chamber board for more than 15 years and devoted hours of time and energy to promote the Darien Chamber and the Darien business community. They have built and maintain a state-of-the-art facility that draws clients from many towns in Fairfield County, which helps promote shopping, dining and doing business in Darien. 

BMW of Darien is the original venue for first Wine Tasting & Charity Auction in 2005, and continues to be a regular host for this successful event to support local charities.

Over the years, BMW of Darien has been a consistent and supportive sponsor the Lobster Picnic, Darien SideWalk Sales, Chamber Golf Outing, Darien Going for Green, Shop & Dine Map, the Darien Business Directory and many more Chamber/community programs.
