DARIEN, Conn. — Author Matthew Palmer will discuss his political thriller "Secrets of State" at Darien Library on Thursday, May 28, at 7 p.m.

Palmer is an experienced diplomat and 20-year veteran of the U.S. Foreign Service and currently serves as the director of multilateral affairs in the State Department’s Bureau of Asian and Pacific Affairs. His first political thriller, "The American Mission," was released in 2014. 

"Secrets of State" follows protagonist Sam Trainor's transition from government to corporate consulting and his discovery of a threat to the balance between India and Pakistan that could result in nuclear war. 

Copies of "Secrets of State" will be available for purchase at the event, and refreshments will be served.
