Author Visits As Darien Library Closes Out Summer Reading Program

DARIEN, Conn. – Darien Library is gearing up for a Finale Party to celebrate the end of the Game On, Darien! Summer Reading Program.

Author Rebecca Stead will be the guest speaker at the event, which will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Monday, Aug. 11, in the library's Louise Parker Berry Community Room.

Stead’s book, "When You Reach Me," earned the 2010 John Newbery medal and the Boston Globe-Horn Book Award for fiction. The book was also named a New York Times Notable Book for Fiction.

Stead is also the author of "Liar & Spy," which was nominated for the 2015 Nutmeg Book Award, and "First Light."
