Teachers hail from a number of different backgrounds, such as the School of Visual Arts, Pratt Institute, The Cooper Union and more.
Adults may register for the classes, which will be mornings, starting the first week of October. To register, visit the website at darienarts.org or call 203-655-8683. The classes offered will be:
- Printing and Drawing Studio – 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesdays, including intaglio and paper lithography, taught by Roxanne Faber Savage, who has a bachelor of fine arts degree from Pratt Institute.
- Watercolor Painting – 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Mondays, taught by Joe LaMorte, who was trained at Cooper Union.
- Mixed Media – 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Tuesdays, which will involve creating collages, experimenting with papers, techniques and ideas, and more, taught by Holly Fracassi, who has a bachelor of fine arts degree from Purchase College.
- Drawing and Painting Academy – 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Fridays, which involves learning to draw and paint still life and portraits and much more, taught by Eddie Nino, who studied at Grand Central Academy of Art in New York, at The Art Students League of New York and with well-known art teacher Andrew Reiss in Brooklyn.
