Darien Arts Center Holding Auditions For 'The Nerd'

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Arts Center will have auditions for their production of Larry Shue's "The Nerd" Sept. 12-13 at the DAC's Weatherstone Studio.

Bob Johnson will direct the production of the two-act comedy. The following parts will be cast:

Willum Cubbert (male, mid-30s). A likable, sincere but unexciting and obstinate architect.
Tansy McGinnis (female, mid-30s). A bubbly, independent weather girl torn between Willum and her career.
Axel Hammond (male, mid-30s). Irreverent theater critic with a dry, wisecracking, devil-may-care attitude.
Warnock Waldgrave (male, 35-50s). Stern businessman loaded with power but lacking in imagination and smiles.
Clelia Waldgrave (female, 30-50s). Calm and patient, but stressed.
Thor Waldgrave (male, 10-14). The bratty, temperamental and loud son of Warnock and Clelia Waldgrave.
Rick Steadman (male, mid-30s). The tactless, dull, oblivious titular character and worst house guest ever.
Dean and Winky. Willum's friends. Pre-recorded voice-overs of a couple lines each.
