DARIEN, Conn. – Darien children can “Spring into Art” with flower-themed activities at a special workshop on Saturday at the Darien Arts Center.
Beth Cherico, DAC's visual arts director, will lead the workshop, where children ages 5 and up will paint flower pots and make flower-themed collages to take home. “Spring into Art” will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. and costs $30 per child. Register by Friday at darienarts.org or call 203-655-8683.
Kids can also get creative at “Stretch Your Imagination,” the DAC’s April vacation camp that will be held from Monday, April 13 through Thursday, April 16. Kids will create stories and characters through theater games involving movement, improvisation and characterization. They will also learn how to apply stage makeup and design costumes, and use fabric, paper, beads and buttons to build their characters and props. The program will be led by DAC instructor Nancy Kelly and Kids’ Theater Director Maggie Pangrazio, and is open for children in Grades Two through Five.
The April vacation camp will take place from 9:45 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. each day. A snack will be provided, but campers should bring lunch. The fee for the camp is $240, plus a $25 registration fee. Visit darienarts.org to register or call 203-655-8683.
