DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Chamber of Commerce will host its ninth annual Wine Tasting and Charity Auction from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 24 at BMW of Darien.
This year’s fundraiser will benefit The Depot Youth Center, YWCA Darien/Norwalk and the Darien Chamber of Commerce.
The center is a nonprofit organization providing youth with a drug- and alcohol-free environment. The YWCA of Darien/Norwalk’s mission is “Eliminating Racism and Empowering Women.” The Darien chamber supports a number of community events and projects, including two community-based scholarships and holiday lighting in Darien.
The evening will feature a selection of fine wines from six distributors and a local craft beer brewery sponsored by WinePort-Darien. WinePort donates a portion of all wine/beer purchases to the cause.There will be six food sponsors offering items from lamb chops to gold-sprinkled chocolate ganache blooms. Food sponsors last year included Atria~Darien, Palmer’s Fine Food & Catering, Rory’s, Sails American Grill, Ten Twenty Post~Oyster Bar & Bistro and Whole Foods Market.
There will be a silent and live auction that includes: BMW Roadster, Senator Duff Day in Your Class, Membership at Darien YMCA, remi & reid handbag from Bling, Synergie Peel Microdermabrasion, A Day of Beauty at Williams & Company, Dine Around Darien Restaurant Package, Depot Birthday Party Bash, a round of golf at Woodway Country Club, paintings of Darien Landmarks by Peter Saverine, Darien Paintings by Nobu, a Florida trip, airlines tickets and more.
Tickets can be purchased online for $50 and are limited to 275 people. Price at the door is $65.
