DARIEN, Conn. -- On Saturday, Sept. 19 at 5 p.m., the public is invited to a dedication ceremony for a Monument to the Memory of the Patriots of Middlesex Parish.
This is to honor those who suffered, fought, and died during the War for Independence from 1775 to 1783.
The Memorial Marker will be located at the Veterans Memorial Circle in front of Darien Town Hall at 2 Renshaw Road.
Members of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution Curator General, and former CTDAR State Regent Jennie May Rehnberg will greet the public at the ceremony.
Katherine Love, the Good Wife's River Chapter Regent, will be the Master of Ceremonies.
This year also marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of the National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution, and also the 55th anniversary of the local DAR chapter.
In addition, this dedication coincides with Constitution Week from Sept.17 to 23.
