Darien Library Talk Will Address Financial Security For Kids

DARIEN, Conn. -- A financial expert will teach a few secrets for parents at an event Wednesday at the Darien Library dubbed "A Gift That Pays Dividends: Launch Kids’ Financial Security."

Speaker Julie Jason will discuss tax-free gifting, the mechanics of establishing an account for a child, how to gift to it, how to research investments, risk management and more.

Jason is chief investment officer for Stamford-based Jackson, Grant Investment Advisers Inc. She authored "Managing Retirement Wealth: An Expert Guide to Personal Portfolio Management in Good Times and Bad" and "The AARP Retirement Survival Guide: How to Make Smart Decisions in Good Times and Bad.”

The talk will take place at 7 p.m. in the Louise Parker Berry Community Room.
