Darien Native Shares Peace Corps Experience In Library Program

DARIEN, Conn. – Darien resident Peter Duker joined the Peace Corps after college. This decision led to his spending more than a year in Sierra Leone, teaching high school-level physics. He has returned, because of the Peace Corps’ evacuation after the Ebola outbreak. He will share some of his experiences at 7 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 9, at the Darien Library.

The program will benefit anyone who is interested in joining the Peace Corps, and those who just want to learn more about life in another land. Duker will talk about the Peace Corps process, his personal experience and the culture of Sierra Leone. He will also provide examples of the dress and cuisine of the country.

The library is at 1441 Post Road, Darien, Conn. Additional parking is available on Thorndal Circle, behind Nielsen’s.
