Darien Opus Luncheon Raises Money To Send Stamford Kids To Camp

DARIEN, Conn. -- A March luncheon will support Balloons for Campers Day at Opus for Person-to-Person based in Darien.

The campership program sends annually 500 kids in low-income families in Stamford public schools to camp.

The Opus Luncheon Honoring Alumnae event will be held Wednesday, March 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Country Club of Darien. It is open to Opus alumnae, members and guests.

Local author Sara Goff will be the keynote speaker.

Her talk will be on self-discovery and finding fulfillment from her own life, stories that have influenced her writing and have changed the way she measures happiness.

Tickets cost $65 include lunch and a copy of Goff's book "I Always Cry at Weddings."

Opus is a growing membership of women who help people in Darien and neighboring communities, providing assistance such as food and clothing donations, scholarship grants and assistance living loans.
