The First County Bank is continuing as the title sponsor. This event features Darien merchants exhibiting along Post Road and at the Goodwives and Noroton Heights shopping centers. Many bargains, with discounts of up to 70 percent, are expected to be offered.
On July 11, Day Street will be closed to vehicular traffic to permit more people to stroll, enjoy the shade and hanging flower baskets and the inflatable children’s entertainment.
Below is a schedule of activities:
Friday, July 10: Face painters from the Depoy at First County Bank (10 a.m.-2 p.m.) and face painter Ela at the Darien Toy Box (11 a.m.-1 p.m.). Also, free cup of Deadly Grounds Coffee at The Dock Shop. Plus, The Bluefish Mascot-B.B. and the Sound Tigers Mascot-Storm and an inflatable bounce house will be in the downtown area. Other attractions include Amazing Andy on stilts with his juggling, Face Painters and Live Music at both Noroton Heights & Gofer Park.
Saturday, July 11: Inflatable Toys on Day Street and then behind First County Bank and 1020 Post Road; free face painter by Depot teens at First County Bank; free cup of Deadly Grounds Coffee at The Dock Shop, face painter Ela inside the Darien Toy Box from 11 a.m. -1 p.m. Also, Darien firehouse will have a firetruck; the Darien station firefighters will be roasting hot dogs at the Darien Fire Station from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Also, explore a Post 53 ambulance, have your blood pressure taken and learn hands-free CPR with the Post 53 EMS team on Tokeneke Road. There will also be live music at Grove Street Plaza Saturday afternoon.
