The mother-daughter yoga workshop will be held Sunday from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Instructed by Danielle Brown and her daughter Gigi, the workshop will focus on mindfulness training and the fundamentals of yoga, including sun salutations, standing poses, balancing postures, seated and reclining poses, and core isolation and strengthening.
The workshop is for mothers and daughters ages 7 and older. The cost for each mother and daughter pair is $20 for Y members and $30 for non-members. Extra children or friends cost $5 each. Register at the Y’s front desk; space is limited.
The “Healthy Holiday Season” workshop will be led by the Darien Y’s health coach, Carol Reardon, on Wednesday, Dec. 9, at 10:45 a.m. This free workshop is open to both members and non-members, and will take place at 10:45 a.m. in the lobby of the Darien Y.
In the group strategy session, participants will learn which seemingly healthy food products are actually full of sugar; the top ways sugar is affecting your health and happiness; tips on eating foods that you both enjoy and are good for you; and how your lifestyle is impacting your food cravings.
