DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Y is holding a raffle featuring several sports and exercise items -- one of which is the new Bowflex Max Trainer M5, a hybrid cardio and strength fitness machine that retails for $1,600.
Tickets to the raffle are $10 and will be sold at the Darien Y front desk and in the lobby until noon on Sunday, June 12.
The winners of the raffle items will be announced at 12:30 p.m. on June 12 during the awards ceremony of the Y Games, called: Team Charity Challenge.
Other raffle items include two tickets to a New York Rangers game, a GoPro Hero 3+ wearable sports camera with a head strap, a Motorola X Sol Republic wireless speaker and a NY Islanders jersey signed by John Tavares.
The Bowflex Max Trainer M5 has a compact design for at-home workouts and offers a 14-minute complete body workout as well as nine longer workouts. Fitness expert and Nautilus Inc.’s Chief Fitness Advisor Tom Holland of Darien recently demonstrated the Bowflex Max Trainer M5.
Holland is an exercise physiologist and certified sports nutritionist who has written five books about fitness training and has appeared on numerous television shows including “Good Morning America” and “The Today Show."
He has a weekly radio show called “The Burn: The Bowflex Radio Show” on Wednesdays at 11 a.m., which can be heard on 1490 AM in the Tri-State area, as well as by clicking here , or as a podcast.
Both the raffle and upcoming Y Games: Team Charity Challenge on June 12 benefit the Darien Y’s financial assistance program. Last year, the Darien YMCA provided over $500,000 in financial assistance to children, families, and seniors in the community, which included scholarships to camp and scholarships for special needs programs.
