The March 11 event is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. at the Town Hall gym, according to organizers, who said the hunt will end at The Depot Youth Center on Heights Road, where points will be tallied and prizes awarded.

The teams will attempt to score points by answering town-based riddles and visiting participating businesses described in a series of clues, according to organizers.

While the hunt is open to people of all ages, those under the age of 18 will require a waiver signed by a parent or guardian, according to organizers. The event will be open to the first 20 vehicles to register. Team membership may not exceed the number of seat belts in the assigned vehicle, organizers said.

The three top-scoring teams will be awarded first, second and third prizes, according to organizers. In the event of a tie, prizes will be given based on which teams arrived at The Depot earliest. Registration costs $25 per car, organizers said.

“We are really thrilled to offer this exciting activity to families and the youth of the town," said Alicia Sillars, youth director of the Darien Youth Commission. “Since it is open to all ages, it’s a great way to include everyone in on the fun.”

Organizers said registration for the Darien Dash will be available on the Darien Youth Commission’s website between Feb. 27 and March 8. The organization can also be reached at 203-656-7388.
