Darien/Norwalk YWCA Hosts Concussion Awareness Talk

DARIEN, Conn. -- Darien/Norwalk YWCA Parent Awareness, along with the Ox Ridge Parent Teacher Organization, will present "Concussions: Be Aware and Prepared" at 7:15 p.m. Wednesday at the Ox Ridge Elementary School, 395 Mansfield Ave.

Katherine Price Snedaker, founder of SportsCAPP.com, which builds concussion awareness for athletes, and executive director of nonprofit PinkConcussions.com, will speak about the signs and symptoms of concussions in youths and their immediate and long-term effects.

Attendees will learn how concussions occur, how to help children recover from them and how to prevent them from happening.

Snedaker has vast experience with concussions as an athlete, a professional, a coach and a parent of three active sons.

There is a suggested donation of $10 for the talk.
