The Opus gala, which supports the Norwalk- and Darien-based Person-to-Person, celebrates the 20-year anniversary of Opus, a life-changing organization of women and charity, and will inaugurate the next 20 years of even greater works.

With the Wee Burn Beach Club sunset as the backdrop, the event calls for elegant cocktail attire. Guests will sip on "Platinum Punch," have a gourmet sit-down dinner and enjoy unwinding with the nationally acclaimed band Sultans of Swing.

Seasoned golfers, or those new to the sport, can demonstrate their swing in a golf contest by the sea and all will enjoy a raffle and live and silent auctions. Raffle and auction items will include luxury vacation packages, spa pampering, VIP sports experiences, entertaining couple and group adventures and fine goods for one or many.

Last spring, the sold-out Madras-themed gala raised more than $130,000 for Person-to-Person.

“We are honored to be celebrating 20 years of great works for Opus and thrilled to be back at Wee Burn Beach Club for this event,” said Kristina Gregory, one of the co-presidents this year overseeing the ball. “It’s a privilege to continue in the footsteps of our Opus founding members and former presidents, Katherine Michele and Julie Bauer, who built such a strong foundation for this outstanding volunteer organization.”

Proceeds from The Platinum Ball will help Opus begin its next 20 years with more services for more people, through Person-to-Person’s Emergency Assistance program. This program provides free, gently used clothing, groceries for nutritious meals and financial assistance for rent, security deposits and utility bills. Each year, P2P serves more than 24,500 people from the communities of Darien, Stamford, Norwalk, New Canaan, Westport, Weston and Wilton.

Tickets to The Platinum Ball fundraiser go on sale in early March. Tickets will be available to Opus members and non-members, with a discount for members. Visit the Opus for Person-to-Person website for ticket information.
