DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Library will host an event where visitors can discover a piece of family history on Sunday, Oct. 18, at 9 a.m.

“Come Discover An Ancestor” is a half-day open-house-style event. It is designed to help individuals and families gain a greater appreciation of how family history can be a fun and captivating experience. Participants will learn how family history can enhance their lives now, help nurture a sense of identity and instill a deeper sense of pride.

The event will feature an opening keynote speaker followed a choice of three different 40-minute workshops on such subjects as how to use social media to connect to your family, how to write a personal history and how to get started in family history research as well as a special workshop focused on discovering ancestor artifacts online.

The Darien Library is located at 1441 Post Road.
