Thomas’ “Seasons and Places” opened on July 18 and will run through Sept. 7 at Estia’s Back Porch Café, 1020 Post Road, Darien.

The artist who studied under naturalist painter Edwin Dickinson at the Art Students’ League in New York City and at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, works with detailed watercolor and oil paintings to create landscapes and cityscapes, as well as animals, gardens and architecture.

Thomas’ work has been written about and featured in national magazines such as Architectural Digest, Town and Country Magazine, Forbes FYI, and the Robb Report, among others. She grew up with an art background in Bucks County, Pa., with her father Fritz Siebel, a renowned illustrator of such classics as the Amelia Bedelia series.

Estia’s, which opened in Darien three years ago, renovated its back porch this spring converting the space from a brick pad into a covered patio with a retractable awning and lush greenery hanging from the pergola structure.

Along with a new menu, Estia’s also introduced new art openings and galleries this spring.
