Find A Class That Fits At The Open House For The Darien Arts Center

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Arts Center's open house offers the public a chance to check out its many classes for people of all ages — there may even be a class for you.

The schedule for the open house, which is Tuesday from 1 to 4 p.m., is as follows:

  • 1-2 p.m.: DAC Weatherstone Studio: Enjoy cupcakes and lemonade, DAC videos and music performed by music department faculty and students. Find out more about DAC Stage and the Bi-Annual Darien Art Show and Sale.
  • 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Visual Arts Studio: Printmaking project for all ages.
  • 2-2:20 p.m.: DAC Weatherstone Studio: Mini-dance class for preschoolers.
  • 2-2:30 p.m.: Music Studio 3: Violin demonstration class.
  • 2:20-2:40 p.m.: DAC Weatherstone Studio: Kid’s Theatre Intro, Pre-K-grade 2
  • 2:20-2:40 p.m.: Music Studio 1: Piano mini-class for ages 5-8.
  • 2:40-3:00pm, DAC Weatherstone Studio: Martial arts mini-class for all ages.
  • 3-3:20 p.m. DAC Weatherstone Studio: Hip Hop mini-dance class for grades 1-3.
  • 3:20-3:40 p.m.: DAC Weatherstone Studio: Theatre games for ages 5-8.
Founded in 1975, the Darien Arts Center is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing visual and performing arts programs and events for the community. 

The DAC offers educational programs in Dance, Visual Arts, Music and Theatre as well as special events and community theatre produced by DAC Stage. 

Private donations, grants, tuition fees and ticket sales fund the DAC, which is located at 2 Renshaw Road, behind Town Hall.
