Rhodes will lead the Stamford Symphony in a program reflecting the language of music of the classical and romantic periods as well as contemporary classical music.
Rhodes is the music director and conductor of the Springfield Symphony Orchestra in Massachusetts and the Traverse Symphony Orchestra in Traverse City, Mich., as well as the principal conductor of the Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra of Boston. He has had a varied career spanning concerts, opera and ballet across the globe, having conducted in 15 different countries with 50 different orchestras.
The weekend’s program includes Beethoven’s cheery 8th Symphony, a piano concerto performed by Yevgeny Sudbin and Beethoven’s 10th Symphony.
