Greenwich Dolphins Swimmers Make Splash In Summer Events

GREENWICH, Conn. -- Swimmers from the YWCA of Greenwich Dolphins made a big mark in USA Swimming events this summer with a collection of national qualifiers, medalists and records.

Among the swimmers who competed in national events were Thomas Dillinger, Alexander Lewis, Kate Hazlett, Graham Hazlett, Alexander Hazlett and Meghan Lynch. 

Kate Hazlett, 13, won a gold medal in the 50-meter freestyle in USA Eastern Zone Long Course Age Group Championships. Her winning time of 26.8 qualifies her for the elite USA Swimming Junior National Short Course Championships in Seattle on Dec. 11 to 13.

The effort was also the fastest in Connecticut and the second fastest in the USA by a 13-year old this year.
