Fifth Friday featured a question-and-answer session – and occasional debate – between Dr. Brigid Harrison of Montclair State University and Dr. Peter Woolley of Fairleigh Dickinson University. Both political commentators addressed the evolving political landscape for Democratic and Republican voters in the 2016 presidential election.
Woolley and Harrison spoke about the role of polling, caucuses in Iowa and New Hampshire, how Donald Trump’s candidacy changed the race, the power of political action committees, major financial donors, and the odds on certain candidates to win the presidency.
Fifth Friday events are held in winter, spring and fall annually, she said and includes corporate, business, government, not-for-profits, academia, and community leaders.
The next Fifth Friday luncheon will be April 29 at 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. featuring Bergen County Executive James Tedesco. Tickets are $40.00.
