Bars can hire “Trivia A.D." — an abbreviate for Arrested Development's "All Dave" — to host trivia nights with a focus on movies and television shows such as "Harry Potter," "How I Met Your Mother," "Mean Girls," "Friends," "The Wire" and more.

Celebrities from the shows sometimes make guest appearances.

Each event is 90 minutes long and features five rounds of 64 question with several different categories — general knowledge, quotes and a lightning round, for example.

“People want to blow off steam after work by going out for drinks, to dinner, or the movies,” said Oliver, 37. “This combines all of those things into one.”

The "Seinfeld" fan and graphic designer launched the business in 2009 at a bar in New York City. More than 200 people showed up — and Oliver knew it was just the beginning.

Oliver attributes streaming platforms and the rise of “fandom” for his business' success.

“Netflix, Hulu and HBO Go have enabled people to ‘binge watch’ and get engrossed with a certain show or movie,” Oliver said. “All you can do with that information is talk about it with friends or come to us and be cocky and show that you know the most about it.”

Oliver hopes to continue to grow his business to offer more locations and subjects.

"Trivia A.D. has become a huge part of me," Oliver said. "It is great to create these experiences that bring people together."
