Learn About Affordable Care Act Changes In Rep. Wood's Darien Library Forum

DARIEN, Conn. -- The Affordable Care Act will be on everyone's mind as the new president takes office this week.

Darien residents can find out about the ACA and how it has and will continue to shape Connecticut's health insurance industry next Tuesday, Jan. 24 at the Darien Library.

State Rep. Terrie Wood (R-141) will host a forum with two panelists, attorney Victoria Veltri, chief health policy advisor in the office of Lt. Gov. Nancy Wyman, and Maura Carley, founder and president of Healthcare Navigation, LLC.

Veltri is involved with the State Innovative Model Initiative and the Healthcare Cabinet. She serves as Wyman's liaison to state agencies, community organizations and the private sector on healthcare-related matters. Her career focus has been on educating the public about critical health care topics.

Carley has worked at Yale-New Haven Hospital and other healthcare organizations in leadership roles. She founded Healthcare Navigation, a national healthcare advocacy firm which assists clients with today's health insurance. 

Both panelists serve on the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Health Insurance Exchange.
