Light Up Rowayton Event Celebrates The Holidays

NORWALK, Conn. – The Rowayton Civic Association is kicking off the holiday season by decorating Pinkney Park and downtown Rowayton with 23,000 lights. The festivities will begin with the official lighting on Sunday, Nov. 30, at 4 p.m.

The Rowayton Academy Group will gather at the Post Office at 4:15 p.m. to sing carols. The Brien McMahon High School Carolers will follow.

Santa will arrive at Pinkney Park in a firetruck to light up the town at 5:15 p.m. 

An egg-nog contest will be held outside the Rowayton Market at 5:30 p.m. Residents can participate by bringing three gallons of their favorite egg-nog recipe. All tasters must be aged 21 or older. To enter, email Stuart Ferrell at stuart5100@aol.com or call 203-354-7062.

Caren Forbes from A Boutique on the Water at 149 Rowayton Ave. will donate 10 percent of Sunday's sales to the Rowayton Civic Association as part of the festivities.
