Based on an early 20th-century movement by surrealists such as Yves Tanguy, Jacques Prévert, André Breton and Marcel Duchamp, participating Loft Artist members will create three pieces in their own style and medium.
They will choose figures that might be human, animal, celestial, mythical, vegetable, mechanical, or any combination and make pieces to represent one head, one torso, and one legs section.
“The pieces will then be randomly shuffled and re-combined to create new and unexpected results,” said show chair Paul Larson. “It’s a unique, exciting concept that must be seen to be appreciated.”
There will be an opening reception on Friday, July 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. Regular gallery hours are Saturdays and Sundays from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Admission and parking are free with a suggested donation. Handicapped access is available. For directions and more information visit this link or call 203-247-2027.
