"This is a director-driven movie and Ira [Sachs, the director] is the reason we got involved in the first place," he said.

"Little Men," which stars Greg Kinnear and Jennifer Ehle, centers on a couple who inherit a building in Brooklyn and the unbreakable bond that forms between their son and the son of the Chilean single mom/shopkeeper who leases their first floor. Trouble arises when the couple try to force out the shopkeeper, who is leasing the space for less than its value.

The movie, explained Helderman, does a great job in showing the relationship between the kids, the kids and their parents and the moment when the children start to see their parents not just as their parents, but as human beings.

"Little Men" is showing Thursday, June 9, at 6:45 p.m.at Bow Tie Cinema in Greenwich at on Sunday, June 12, at 2:45 p.m.

Helderman, the founder of Buffalo 8 Productions, a feature film and commercial production company based in Los Angeles, said his parents, who live in Southport, and his wife's family, who are in the Litchfield County area, will be in attendance at the screenings as will his business partners’ (Luke Taylor and Patrick DePeters) families, who are also from the Connecticut area.

Helderman will also be attending the screenings and a Q&A session following each.
