The relationship will expand outpatient behavioral programming by providing all levels of outpatient services in one location.

"I am delighted to welcome the Catholic Charities staff to the St. Vincent's family," said Peggy Hardy, the vice president of behavioral health for MSG. St. Vincent's is the third largest provider of inpatient behavioral health services in Connecticut.

"Together we are providing a full continuum of care to our community members with great skill, compassion, and reverence," Hardy continued.

While intensive outpatient and partial hospital services for adults and adolescents will continue, this collaboration will expand and complement the outpatient services St. Vincent's offers.

CCFC offers a variety of outpatient behavioral health services including:

  • parenting education programs
  • school-based counseling services
  • individual, couples and family psychiatric consultations
  • evaluations for adults and children
  • medication management and group therapy services

"This collaboration allows us to be more efficient and more effective. It's a natural fit in so many ways, given our shared mission and complementary services," said Al Barber, president of Catholic Charities of Fairfield County.

"Optimizing our services for fragile individuals is one of the toughest things we do. With the increased focus on mental health issues in society today, the need to enhance behavioral health offerings has never been greater."

Operating since 1916, CCFC is the largest private social-services provider in the county. CCFC provides food, housing, behavioral health, adoption, immigration and family support services to the needy and vulnerable of all faiths and backgrounds.
