DARIEN, Conn. -- The Darien Library will present its annual spring fundraiser Saturday, May 21.
This year’s theme, “Party on Post,” will be a festive street-fair right in the library courtyard, featuring live music by Chasing Day, silent and live auctions and cocktails.
Food and beverages will be supplied by Two Roads Brewery Company, Simply Creative Catering, LobsterCraft, Hapa and MeltMobile food trucks.
Library trustees Alex Eising, Tara Ochman, Tammy Sload and Sue Weaver, along with auction chair Allegra Erickson, are excited about the street fair theme and are planning new auction items and surprises.
"We are looking forward to a night full of fun and festivities,” Ochman said. “It is one of the best nights in town, as our community comes out to celebrate and supports the idea that libraries are for everyone."
All money raised from the event will be dedicated to expanding library resources, including purchasing new books, technology and supporting programs and guest speakers.
Board of trustees president Tad Smith said: “The library is an invaluable asset to our community. It is only with the support of our friends that we can purchase the books and offer the programs that we have all come to enjoy.”
"Party on Post" is sponsored by David Harvey Fine Jewelers, Darien Rowayton Bank, New Canaan/Darien Magazine and Two Roads Brewing Company.
Tickets are available for $150. To buy tickets or for more information, visit http://www.darienlibrary.org/partyonpost.
The event will begin at 7 p.m.
The Darien Library is at 1441 Post Road, Darien.
