Students will learn drawing skills and pastel techniques while incorporating elements of composition, and will work from life to create a finished still life drawing.
All skill levels are welcome in the workshop, which takes place in the DAC Visual Arts Studio at 2 Renshaw Road, behind the Darien Town Hall.
Participants are asked to register by noon on March 6 at darienarts.org. A materials list will be provided.
Davis lives and works in Brooklyn and has participated in many exhibitions and festivals, including the Pastel Society of America and the DUMBO Arts Festival. His work has been displayed at the Pleiades Gallery and First Street Gallery in Chelsea, and published in the RSVP Directory of Illustration Design book.
Davis has garnered multiple honors and awards over the last decade. Most recently he was recognized with a first place prize for his painting, "Factory Building on Wolcott," from the Art Association of Harrisburg during its 2010 National Exhibition.
Davis Received a bachelor of fine arts degree from The School of Visual Arts in 2004 and is a member of the New York Art Residency & Studios Foundation.
The workshop is $80 with no registration fee.
