Registration Opens For Summer Programs At Darien Arts Center

DARIEN, Conn. -- Looking for summer classes for yourself or your kids? The Darien Arts Center is offering a lineup of educational programs in Dance, Visual Arts, Music and Theatre to offer enrichment during the school break.

Some of the summer camp offerings include: 

  • Preschool Art, Music and Dance Camp – ages 3-5, Tuesday and Thursday, 10 am – 2pm, weekly sessions from June 9 through Aug 4, one session $200, multiple sessions discounted.
  • Let’s Put on a Show! Art, Dance and Theatre Camp – grades 1-4, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10am-2pm, July 6-31, $500.
  • Dance: Summer Dance – ages 8-14, weekdays 2-4:30pm, July 6-17. Jazz, modern, and ballet choreography and compositions, make-up and costuming. $250.
  • Ballet Intensive/Pointe – by permission, weekdays 2-4:30. July 20-Aug 7, for intermediate and advanced students, includes pointe work. $375.
  • Choreography - Intermediate and advanced, Wednesday 6-7:15pm, June 17-Aug 19, each class will focus on a different style of dance. $160 full session or $20 per class.
  • Martial Arts - ages 4-12, Tuesdays 4:45-5:45pm, June 16-Aug 18, $165, $30 uniform fee.
  • Music: Private Instruction in Piano, Guitar, Violin, Drum Set, or Composition - 30 min for $44, 45 min for $66 or 1 hour lessons for $88, June 16-Aug 22
  • Duo Piano Workshop – all ages, 45 min lessons available weekdays in July, $25 per lesson.
  • Mommy, Music and Me I – birth-2 yrs., Wednesdays, 10:45-11:30am, June 10-July 29, fine and large motor skills, parents or caregivers participate in the fun! $168.
  • Mommy, Music and Me I – ages 2-4, Wednesdays, 9:45-10:30am, June 10-July 29, utilizing more motor skills, parents or caregivers participate in the fun! $168.
  • Music Composition I – Grades 2-3, weekdays 5-6pm, July 16-24, writing, recording and performing one’s own music, $193.
  • Music Composition II – Grades 4-7, weekddays 5-6pm, July 7-15, writing, recording and performing one’s own music, $193.
  • Group Music Theory – Grades 4-12, Monday and Wednesday, 7-8:15pm, July 6-29, prepares student for entrance into more advanced theory courses. $240, $25 book fee.
  • Visual Arts: The Big Top –ages 7-12, Monday to Thursday, 2:30-4:30pm, June 22-25, create art projects with a circus theme, wire sculptures, painting, and clowning! $160, 
  • Blast Off! – ages 7-11, Monday to Thursday, 2:30-4:30pm, July 6-9, create alien and rocket ship themed projects, create space sabers and learn fight choreography. $160
  • Innovate and Invent- ages 7-11, Monday to Thursday, 2:30-4:30pm, July 13-16, use repurposed materials to create fantasy inventions, make paint and dyes with natural materials. $160.
  • Ballet- Monday, Wednesday, Friday 9:45-11:15am, June 8-Aug 21 Pilates –Tues, 9:15-10:15am, June 10-Aug 19
  • Martial Arts – Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30pm, June 16-Aug 18
