“Come share in the Holiday Spirit by creating ornaments to decorate your home this season,” library officials wrote in a press release. “It's time to roll up your sleeves and get creative.”

“Hands-on instruction will be given as we work our way through swans, stars, sailboats, and other festive pieces. Participants will be given a sturdy folder to help create tight folds and a plethora of folding paper.”

The event, which is targeted for senior citizens, is free. However, library staff members ask each participant to bring a small box to transport the origami creations back home.

Senior Moments will be held Wednesday, Dec. 10, at 3 p.m. at the Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
