"We just keep moving forward and try to create a blend of so many different things that we're bound to have something for most avid theatre-goers,'' said Curtain Call's executive/artistic director Lou Ursone. "We definitely don't try to one up ourselves ... that would be crazy. Especially since more than 90 percent of our shows over the past five years have been completely sold out."

Other shows for the season include "Ragtime," "GlenGarry Glen Ross," "Scrooge: The Musical," "A Merry Mulberry Street Musical," "The Delval Divas," "The Who's Tommy," "The Days of Wine and Roses," "Beauty & The Beast," "The Independents," "The Man With the Glass Heart" and "Sweet Charity."

This season's opening production is suitably timed to an election year: Gore Vidal's political satire will in The Dressing Room Theatre through Oct. 2.

Directed by former Connecticut State legislator, John Atkin, this production is an entertaining ride of twists and turns of the race to the presidency, as two front-runners vie for their party’s nomination in the midst of backstabbing, double-crossing, dirty-dealing and all the thrilling games politicians play. (Atkin served six years in the Connecticut House of Representatives and four years in the Connecticut Senate.)

Overlapping with "The Best Man" will be the season's first main stage musical, Ragtime, which will play in The Kweskin Theatre, Sept. 23 through Oct. 22. Based on the novel by E. L. Doctorow and the Hollywood film of the same name, this Tony Award-winning musical raises issues from the turn of the last century, that are still prevalent today.
