DARIEN, Conn. -- Tree Conservancy of Darien will hold its fourth annual photo contest, "Celebration of Trees" with an opening reception on March 4.
Proceeds of the contest will go directly to the planting and caring for trees in Darien.
Tree Conservancy of Darien is allowing photos outside of Darien to be submitted for entry this year and has included a category for Fairfield County professionals.
Photos can be black and white or color, but should have been taken within the past two years.
Entries must be matted and framed by the photographer and cannot exceed 16 by 20 inches in the professional category and 8 by 10 inches for non-professionals.
Photographers can offer their photographs for sale, with 30 percent of the price going to Tree Conservancy.
Photos can be submitted at the Darien Nature Center on Feb. 25 and 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Feb. 27 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Registration is $10 for students and $15 for adults and professionals. Participants are limited to three entries per person and one per category.
Photos will be on display at the Darien Nature Center from March 4 to 25.
Prizes will be awarded in categories such as spring, summer, autumn and winter.
The reception takes place at the Darien Nature Center from 6 to 8 p.m.
