DARIEN, Conn. -- The Mather Center in Darien will have several upcoming events for seniors, including discussions on antibiotics and Medicare, a live concert and more.
Barbara Newland, of the Ridgefield Visiting Nurse Association, will present a home health care program detailing what is or isn't covered by Medicare and more at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 3 with a complimentary lunch at noon. Sign up by July 30.
Art Gottlieb, LCSW will present a collection of digitized color slides found at the Library of Congress at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4. The presentation will represent life in the United States during the 1930s and '40s.
Melody Matheny Orpen, community health coordinator for Visiting Nurse and Hospice of Fairfield County, will present a discussion called "Getting Older Isn't for Sissies" at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 5. A pharmacist from CT Pharmacy will present a program discussing antibiotic resistant "super bugs" at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 10.
Tony Castle and Patsy Shore will perform popular songs from artists such as Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett, Patsy Cline, Elvis Presley, Dean Martin, Neil Diamond, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson and more at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 11.
