DARIEN, Conn. -- Here are the upcoming events at the Darien Senior Activities Center, 30 Edgerton St.

Historical Series with Art Gottlieb, Tuesday, July 1, at 12:30: The oldest commissioned warship afloat, the USS Constitution was launched in Boston in 1797. The Constitution distinguished herself during the War of 1812 when she defeated five British warships, earning her the name “Old Ironsides." Preserved as a museum ship since 1907, the Constitution is still capable of sailing under her own power and has done so twice since 1997.

Celebrate Independence Day with Bob Giannotti, Wednesday, July 2, at 12:30 : The ever popular performer will be back to entertain. Bob plays guitar and flute as well as sings. He performs and records all his own background music which allows him to be more original.

Stamford Hospital Lunch and Learn – Dermatology, Tuesday, July 15: Complimentary lunch served promptly at Noon. Program begins at 12:30. Skin conditions can range from severe to cosmetic, acute to chronic.
