Meditation Monday: 7:45 p.m. Julie Punishill will lead a workshop on meditation. Participants should bring a throw pillow for their own comfort. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Tuesday, Jan. 8

Little Changes for a Healthy Heart: 12:15 p.m. Steven Horowitz, cardiology chief at Stamford Hospital, will discuss small changes you can make to your exercise and nutrition habits to keep your heart healthy. Entry is $5 for DCA members and $10 for nonmembers. Darien Community Association, 274 Middlesex Road.

Wednesday, Jan. 9

Learning Disabilities Talk: 7 p.m. Mark Beitel, a clinical psychologist, psychotherapy researcher and psychotherapist, will discuss cognitive behavioral therapy for children with anxiety, depression and other issues. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Thursday, Jan. 10

Darien Library Writers’ Group: 7 p.m. If you’re working on a writing project, bring it to this informal group to share and receive feedback. The workshop is led by Emmy award-winning writer and published author Bob Kernan. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Friday, Jan. 11

Depot Fundraiser: 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres to raise money for the Depot teen center. $75 per person. Woodway Country Club, 540 Hoyt St.
