What To Do In Darien This Weekend

DARIEN, Conn. - The events in Darien this weekend include a wreath laying at the veterans' cemetery and a holiday art workshop. Check out our Events calendar for more items.

Friday, Dec. 14

Ox Ridge Holiday Concert : 10 a.m. The students perform in their holiday concert. Ox Ridge Elementary School, 395 Mansfield Ave.

“Hope Springs” Screening and Discussion : 6:30 p.m. The library will screen “Hope Springs,” starring Meryl Streep and Tommy Lee Jones, which was partially filmed in Darien. Home owners who provided their house for the film will have a discussion afterward. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Saturday, Dec. 15

Wreaths Across America : Noon. The Darien VFW will be laying wreaths across the graves of soldiers as part of Wreaths Across America, an annual event that pays tribute to veterans across the country. Spring Grove Cemetery.

Holiday Art Workshop : 2 p.m. Kids can make snowmen and other holiday crafts, decorations and gifts at several different creative stations. $25 per child. Darien Arts Center, 2 Renshaw Road.

Sunday, Dec. 16

Toys for Tots Holiday Drive and Breakfast : 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Bring a new, unwrapped toy and then sit down for breakfast. Santa Claus will be making a special appearance and there will be a fire truck to load up all the toys. Cost is $20 for adults, $10 for kids. The Goose, 972 Post Road.

Zumba Holiday Party : 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. Flair Fitness hosts an afternoon of Zumba dance class for kids. There also will be snacks and holiday crafts. Kids can bring an unwrapped toy to be donated to Toys for Tots. $25 per child. Middlesex Middle School, 204 Hollow Tree Ridge Road.
