Rules Committee: 8 p.m. The RTM Rules Committee will meet. Auditorium, Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road.

Tuesday, Aug. 21

Maplewood Open House: 10 a.m. Maplewood at Darien, a new assisted living facility, will host an open house for a chance to meet the staff and tour the model apartments. Maplewood at Darien, 599 Post Road.

Wednesday, Aug. 22

Meet Us On Main Street: 11 a.m. Join this weekly, informal book chat to share what you’re reading and get suggestions for what to check out next. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Darien Farmers Market: 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Pick up fresh fruit, vegetables and other items from local farmers and vendors. Mechanic Street Parking Lot.

Thursday, Aug. 23

Summer Reading Finale: 6 p.m. Matthew Cody, author of “Powerless” and “The Dead Gentleman” will join the Summer Reading Club’s finale party. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Friday, Aug. 24

Darien Summer Nights: 6 p.m. Harry Bergen and Twisted Resistor will be playing music from the 1960’s at this weekly, free outdoor concert. Grove Street Plaza.

“The Hunger Games” Screening: 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The library hosts two screenings of “The Hunger Games.” Based on the popular novel, this film takes place in the future and tells the story of a competition where children are forced to fight to the death. Rated PG-13. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
