Summer Reading Finale: 6 p.m. Matthew Cody, author of Powerless and The Dead Gentleman will join the Summer Reading Clubs finale party. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
Friday, Aug. 24
Darien Summer Nights: 6 p.m. Harry Bergen and Twisted Resistor will be playing music from the 1960s at this weekly, free outdoor concert. Grove Street Plaza.
The Hunger Games Screening: 6:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. The library hosts two screenings of The Hunger Games. Based on the popular novel, this film takes place in the future and tells the story of a competition where children are forced to fight to the death. Rated PG-13. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
