Tuesday, Aug. 28

Medicare Made Clear : 12:30 p.m. Ed Henrich from United Healthcare will be at the Senior Center to discuss Medicare, including plans and options, timing and where to go for more help. Darien Senior Center, 30 Edgerton St.

Author John Barricelli : 7 p.m. John Barricelli, owner and chef of SoNo Baking Company, will discuss his newest book, "The Seasonal Baker: Easy Recipes from My Home Kitchen to Make Year-Round." Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.

Board of Education : 7:30 p.m. The Darien Board of Education will meet. Board of Education offices, Darien Town Hall, 2 Renshaw Road.

Newcomers Ladies Dinner : 7:30 p.m. The YWCA Darien/Norwalk hosts a dinner for women in the Newcomers Club at Estia's American. The price is $35 per person and includes dinner, drinks, tax and tip. Estia's American, 1020 Post Road.

Darien Summer Nights : 6 p.m. Singer/songwriter and Middlesex Middle School teacher John Torres will perform in the final installment of this weekly free concert series. Grove Street Plaza.

"A Separation" Screening : 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. The Darien Library hosts two screenings of "A Separation." This film won the Academy Award for best foreign film, and tells the story of an Iranian couple who must decide whether to move to another country. Darien Library, 1441 Post Road.
