NORWALK, Conn. -- It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Stepping Stones Museum for Children in Norwalk.
Museum employees have decked the halls, made their lists and checked them twice. With the holiday season approaching, Stepping Stones is celebrating another season of joy with the annual offering of Holiday Happenings events, which transform the museum into a winter wonderland.
“While all of the museum’s holiday happenings are filled with fun and good cheer, we have a family experience that is truly magical,” said Sheri Cifaldi-Morrill, director of exhibit design and delivery at Stepping Stones Museum for Children.
The celebration kicked off on December 18 with "Festival of Lights," which features holiday traditions from around the world. Throughout December, Stepping Stones will host a sleighful of events and activities such as the "Best Sock Skating in Connecticut" at their outdoor rink, an Elf Workshop, where children can make snow globes, holiday cards, pencil holders and ornaments, a meet and greet with Santa Claus and more.
“Our sock skating rink is definitely a Stepping Stones Museum top pick," said Cifaldi-Morrill. "It will be open through the winter and we hope kids take advantage all season long.”
Additionally, children have the chance to capture seasonal memories by taking photos inside a life sized winter snow globe or in the lighted courtyard. For museum guests, there are festive posters, snowmen, winter murals and seasonally-decorated galleries located throughout the Museum's exhibits.
